Description

Induction Coil for High-Frequency Heating Machines

The induction coil (also called inductor, electromagnetic transducer, etc.) is the energy output component of high-frequency and medium-frequency induction heating equipment.

To ensure heating speed and efficiency, its parameters—number of turns (coils), diameter, shape, and dimensions—must meet impedance matching conditions and workpiece process requirements. Generally, a larger coil diameter requires fewer turns, while a smaller diameter requires more turns.

Common types of inductors include:

  • Surface heating inductors

  • Internal bore heating inductors

  • Flat heating inductors

  • Universal heating inductors

  • Special-shaped heating inductors

  • Single-purpose heating inductors

  • Composite heating inductors

  • Melting furnace inductors

Material Selection: High-purity copper with low resistivity should be used, and its specifications and wall thickness must meet the maximum operating current requirements.

Design Considerations:
To prevent sparking between the coil and workpiece, inter-turn arcing, magnetic saturation, and other issues that could damage the equipment or workpiece, the following are critical:

  1. Proper induction heating design, including coil shape and key parameter calculations.

  2. Selection of appropriate insulation, thermal protection, and shielding materials, such as:

    • High-temperature insulation sleeves

    • High-temperature thermal insulation wool

    • Quartz tubes

    • Graphite tubes

    • Silicone rubber

    • Refractory materials

The performance of the induction coil directly affects the equipment’s output power, efficiency, stability, reliability, and service life. Therefore, each inductor must be rigorously designed, manufactured, and even tested for verification.

If you need a custom-made coil, please provide the following parameters:

For purchasing an existing coil:

  1. Photos and detailed dimensions of the current coil.

  2. Option to ship a sample directly to our company.

For a newly designed coil, provide:

  1. Heating equipment power and frequency.

  2. Workpiece drawings and heating requirements.

  3. Brief description of issues with the current coil (if applicable).
